Nathaniel Zhang

Nathaniel Zhang began piano studies at the age of five, has studied with Tien-Hsieh, and currently studies with Dr. Sasha Starcevich. Nathaniel has achieved many accolades at piano competitions.  He won first prizes at the 2018-2019 National MTNA Junior Competition and the 2019 Virginia Waring International Junior Competition. He was awarded second prize at the Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition, fifth prize at the International Piano-E Junior Competition, and second prize at the San Jose International Piano Competition. He has performed concertos with the Florence Conservatory Orchestra in Perugia, Italy, and the Philharmonia Northwest. He will perform with the Seattle and Auburn Symphonies in the 2022-23 season. Nathaniel also enjoys playing chamber music and regularly performs at the “Rising Stars of Chamber Music” concerts.  His other hobbies include watching sports and solving Rubik’s Cube.
